Welcome to the CL Network!

The Cooperative Learning Network is designed to promote cooperative learning in the classroom. I hope you will use this site as a resource when planning and implementing cooperative learning strategies in your own classroom.  Whether you are new to cooperative learning or an old pro, I invite you to check out the ideas on this site!

Recommended Reading

Many of the activities and ideas found on this site reflect the work of Dr. Spencer Kagan. If you haven't read any of his books, I recommend that you start with his big book, Cooperative Learning. You can order these five books at Amazon.com. You can also order my cooperative learning books directly from Kagan by following the directions at the bottom of the page.

Cooperative Learning - An absolute must-have! This was a life-changing book for me!
Classbuilding: Cooperative Learning Activities - Highly recommended if your students are having
trouble getting along as a class - easy activities and plenty of blackline masters
Cooperative Learning Structures for Teambuilding - Highly recommended if your students are
having difficulty cooperating with each other in teams
Silly Sports and Goofy Games - Recommended for PE teachers and elementary teachers who have to teach PE - a wonderful alternative to competitive games!
Multiple Intelligences: The Complete MI Book - The name says it all! This book is huge and has everything you need to know in order to incorporate Gardner's MI theory into your teaching. You'll find the theory, but you'll also find tons of activities and blackline masters.

In addition to these books, you might be interested in my cooperative learning books for teachers (shown below). You can order the books from Kagan Publishing. Just click the link and do a search for books by Laura Candler. Email me if you have questions about any of the books.
